Aberlady Bay

It was a very Spring like day after early rain. The rain may have grounded 8 Wheatears that were in a field just after where the path forks for the beach. Short Eared Owl & Sparrowhawk in the dunes were notable. 1 Little Egret was in the bay. Small flock of roosting Sanderling on the beach.

Gullane Point had several hundred Common Scoter, Red Throated Diver, Razorbill, Kittiewake. The Long Tailed Ducks never really came close enough for a decent shot.

W/c 18 March 19

A trip down to Inverclyde on a bright day with a moderate wind. First stop was Lunderstone Bay where I saw 1 Red Troated Diver, up to10 Guillemots & 2 Black Guillemots. Cardwell bay in Gourock was very quiet with only Black Guillemot of note. Parklea at Port Glasgow had about 15 Wigeon close in along with some Redshank. Goldeneye & Red Breasted Merganser were also notable.

Finished at Lochwinnoch. Common Ducks including Shoveler & Gadwall were on the Aird Meadow.
